Emma McGordon is an award-winning spoken word artist and poet originally from Whitehaven. She has performed nationally and internationally and is a recipient of the Julia Darling Fellowship and two Arts Council Awards. She has been short listed for Cumbria writer of the year and the Rosamund prize and long-listed in the National Poetry Competition. She has worked extensively in community arts and is currently a writer in residence in a mental health recovery centre. 

Emma will be performing her work in the evening, including a specially commissioned piece about At Autumn's Mellowing, which she will write during the course of the afternoon as she chats to people.
